Centerburg Rally Edges Utica 5-4;
Redskins Lose First MBC Game
Centerburg (8-8,
8-3) scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to edge Utica 5-4.
Utica (16-4, 10-1) scored four runs in the top of the third inning but was held
scoreless the rest of the way. Jordan Burson picked up the
complete game win for Centerburg. Burson struck out 10 and walked
one. Utica starter Dan Wheeler (6-1) took the loss while allowing only
two earned runs and four hits. Jon Beck stroked two hits,
including a double to lead the Trojans.
Wheeler connected
on a two-run homer for the Redskins in the top of the third inning -- his
seventh of the season. Justin
Wohlford had two hits for including a run scoring double and Joe McGuire
had an RBI single for Utica.
The loss put Centerburg within two games of league leader Utica
