Utica Remains Undefeated in MBC With
6-3 Win Over Loudonville;
Redskins Improve to 15-3; Wheeler Improves to 6-0
Dan Wheeler (6-0)
picked up the complete game mound win and knocked in the winning runs in leading
Utica (15-3, 9-0) to a 6-3 victory over Loudonville (6-11, 4-5).
Wheeler smacked a two-out, two-run single in the sixth inning to break a 3-3
deadlock. Joe McGuire got things started for Utica in the first
inning --- drilling a two-run homer.
Wheeler allowed
three earned runs, eight hits, struck out five and walked two in seven innings
of work. Ryan Young took the loss for Loudonville limiting Utica to
five hits. Young struck out four, walked five and hit three batters.
Wheeler collected
two singles in the game for the Redskins; Charlie Rowley had an RBI and Justin
Wohlford and Josh Whisner each had singles.
Richie Taylor and Trevor Scott had doubles for
Loudonville. Hansen, Morris and Beck had RBI singles for the Redbirds.
