DeSales Beats Utica 14-5

Columbus DeSales (4-1) scored six runs (five unearned) in the first and six runs in the seventh to top the Redskins in Utica on Wednesday.   Utica (3-2, 2-0) scored four times in the fourth inning to make it a 7-4 ballgame but the Stallions broke it open with their six-run sixth.

Utica starter Bobby Phillips (0-1) took the loss pitching into the sixth inning before he was relieved by Joe McGuire.

The Stallions spanked out 15 hits in the contest including a three-run homer by Eric Graham in the first and a solo shot by Matt Williams in the seventh.

Justin Wohlford led Utica with a two-run home run and an RBI single.   Dan Wheeler had an RBI double and single, Phillips had an RBI single, Charlie Rowley had a triple and Joe McGuire had a double.
